Building a Better Beaufort Scholarship


A partnership between Beaufort County School District , Technical College of the Lowcountry and Know2 Beaufort County to ensure that BCSD graduates can attend college tuition-free.

What are the scholarship’s academic eligibility criteria?


  • Applicants must graduate from a Beaufort County School District High School. 


  • The scholarship can be used to enroll in a one-year occupations, two-year technical or college transfer program at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.


  • The student must have a minimum 2.75 high school GPA.


  • The student must successfully meet TCL’s entry requirements, including South Carolina residency, U.S. citizenship and placement scores for college courses.


  • The student must maintain TCL’s minimum GPA requirements.


  • The student must maintain a full-time caseload of twelve credit hours per semester.


  • Funding is available for two years from the date of high school graduation (summer semesters are included if part of a specific program).


  • The student must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).         Student Code: 009910.


  • June 30, 2018 is the application deadline for the 2017-2018 academic year.
